Tourist Destinations in Maarten (Dutch Part)

St. Martin and St. Maarten, like most Caribbean resorts, are great for lounging in the sand or playing in the surf, but families should be aware that St. Martin's lovely beaches are clothing-optional (especially the tourist favorite, Orient Bay). On the Dutch side, sunbathers in swimming suits can be found along Simpson Bay and Maho Bay. Because Hurricane Irma wreaked havoc on the island, returning guests may find some of their favorite spots closed or with restricted services, but the island has made significant progress in repairing and restoring the damage. Make time for off-the-beaten-path activities such as hiking through Pid du Paradis, gambling at one of the casinos, or shopping for duty-free bargains along Front Street.
