Dimmaltting (Faroese meaning 'Dawn') is the Faroe Islands' oldest and largest newspaper, based in Tórshavn. The first edition of the Dimma, as it is generally called, was published on January 5, 1878 (following a test issue on December 8, 1877). It had a print run of 8,500 copies in 2005 (13,300 in 1991) and appeared five days a week. As of 2014, it publishes once a week, on Friday.
