Types of Japan Visa
These visas are issued to foreign citizens who wish to enter Japan for visits, tourism, businesses or other recreational short-term purposes and not allowed to engage in any employment activities.
Foreign nationals need a Japan Tourist Visa who wish to enter Japan for tourism purposes, visit family and friends or other recreational and short-term purposes that do not require you to engage in paid activities.
How long can you stay in Japan without a Tourist Visa? Some countries do not require a Tourist Visa: Visa Free Countries
Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand: period of stays up to 15 days
United Arab Emirates: period of stays up to 30 days
Other countries and regions: period of stays up to 90 days
Single-entry regulation, tourists can remain in Japan up to 30 days, but this tourist visa is valid for a period of up to 90 days.
How to Get a Japan Tourist Visa? You can apply at one of the Embassies or Consulates of Japan abroad. For a long-term visa, you have to apply for a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) from an Immigration Office in Japan. You have to get the COE through a proxy before you submit the visa application.

Requirements for Passport Holders/Foreign Citizens from visa-exempt countries who are traveling to Japan for short-term purposes:
(a) Passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have at least two blank pages for the entry/exit stamps.
(b) Confirmed return ticket.
How much is Japan Tourist Visa?
(a) Single-entry Visa: 3,000 Yen
(b) Double-entry or Multiple-entry Visa: 6,000 Yen
Note: You only have to pay a visa fee if your application is approved.
You need a Japan Business Visa if you are traveling to Japan for business related purposes.

(a) For a single-entry visa: 3,000 Yen
(b) For a double-entry or multiple-entry visa: 6,000 Yen
If the visa is not issued, no fees are required.

You can transit without a visa only if: (a) You have a confirmed onward ticket within the same calendar day, (b) You stay within the international transit area of the airport (c) You have the necessary documents needed for the next country of destination.
